I have extensive knowledge and expertise in net zero ready and passive house-building construction approaches, materials and technologies.

Engaging with you early in the design stage gives you and your client the information you need to integrate energy-saving measures that will exceed building code requirements.

This is accomplished by modelling the effects of investing in different levels of air-tightness, insulation and window glazing options with site location and house orientation. All of which are fundamental in home performance.

Design is an evolving process, and performing energy modelling on the home as it changes will ensure that the appropriate heating and cooling systems are appropriately sized to meet the demands of climate change.

I use Natural Resource Canada’s HOT2000 energy simulation modelling software and the passive house planning package to model the home design. I also perform F280 Heat Gain and Heat Loss calculations to help size HVAC equipment.
